I don’t know if there is any GROUPING within the Pak team or not, and I don’t think it has anything to do with our loss, but I do observe a huge grouping among the fans and media about Shahid Afridi. There is one group that says, it wasn’t his fault that the team lost and that he should not be criticised. The other group is trying to blame everything on Afridi. In my opinion, BOTH are WRONG.
Shahid Afridi is the captain of the side, and the team has been consistently losing under him for a year now, so its only natural (and rightly so) that people are criticising his leadership role and putting onus of losing on him. BUT (at the same time) he is got a squad (or should I say a bunch of jokers) that are performing as poorly (or even worse) as Afridi leading the side.
We have got the so called “BEST BOWLING ATTACK” but I can’t remember us winning a game defending with our bowlers since AJMAL and HAFEEZ dropped out of the bowling attack. Then we have a batting unit which can be outplayed by a school side of India or Australia. Even my four year old kids have got better brains than those plonkers who are good for nothing.
So, IMO, Shahid Afridi is as good or bad as the team he has been leading, and the whole team (including the management) is responsible for yet another debacle in the world cup.
